Accounting firm Monx was planning to launch a newly designed website and had two SEO goals: first, make sure they did not lose existing traffic from Google, and secondly, start hitting new traffic highs. A mutual acquaintance told them to reach out to Cogney.

The Challenge

The Strategy
We audited plans for their new website and shared our SEO concerns and recommendations with their designer, developer, and writers.
In short, Monx' new website needed a solid technical foundation to make it easy for search engine crawlers to traverse and understand, content on their pages had to align with the ways people search on Google for their services, and they needed to be more proactive about collaborating with other websites in order to get more links pointing to their website, which builds up Monx' authority in the eyes of Google.
Post-launch, we also worked on a retainer basis with Monx' team to help execute the plan. Now 11 months after the new site went live, organic clicks from Google to Monx has increased 11x and they started receiving clicks from answer engines (e.g. ChatGPT) too.

The Keys to Success
- Close working relationship with the developers and writers
- Adherence to an aggressive publishing schedule for blog posts
- A tight feedback loop between historical keyword performance data and choice of new topics to write about

The Results
11x
increase in clicks
50x
increase in keywords ranking on page one of Google
